The Bedford Choice Team held a Hill District Community Open House on December 5th and a Bedford Dwellings Resident Open House on December 6th to give everyone a report out on the HUD Choice Implementation Application, that is due on January 11th.

On Tuesday July 26th and Wednesday July 27th, we held two successful Choice Charrette meetings with the Residents of Bedford Dwellings and the Hill District Community to talk about our plans for Choice and to gain community feedback. We are grateful to everyone who was able to make it out and we heard a lot of great feedback from everyone. We are still gathering and analyzing the information from both meetings but wanted to make the information that was presented available to everyone that was not able to attend the meeting or might have additional feedback. We hope to have a report out on the meeting to everyone next week. Please use the Get In Touch section of the website to send your opinions and questions. Yesterday, we held our first $100 Visa gift card raffle for anyone who completed their survey in the first 2 weeks. We had almost 100 people complete the survey in the first 2 weeks and everyone was entered to win. And the lucky winner was............Earnest!
The first Bedford resident kickoff meeting was held on February 9, 2022 at 6:00pm.
The Resident Needs Assessment (Survey) will be completed at Bedford Dwellings for the purposes of developing a meaningful People Plan that is responsive to the general needs of the Bedford Dwellings Community and to establish baseline data for the implementation of the Plan. A survey was conducted in 2017 during the Bedford Dwelling CNI Planning period however we anticipate a change of both needs and baseline data; Since 2017, nearly 40% of the Bedford Dwellings community has changed and the COVID19 pandemic enters its third year.
The HACP, along with the City of Pittsburgh, is currently planning to submit an application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grant (CNI) for the redevelopment of the Bedford Dwellings community in 2022.
